Beef Festival lands OU professors in trouble Hyderabad: About 100 members, including professors and students of different universities in the twin cities expressed their shock and dismay by signing a note over the criminal cases being lodged against former OU professors for organising Beef Festival in the campus.
According to ACP (East Zone), the OU police had registered criminal cases against former OU professors- Dr P L Vishveshwara Rao, Dr Kancha Ilaiah, Dr Ansari and others following a direction from local court.
This complaint was filed by a group in the local court demanding criminal cases against the said professors for creating unrest in the University by organising Beef Feast.
The supporters of Beef Festival condemned the cases against the organisers and claimed that the Beef Fest in OU campus was an assertion of Dalit-Bahujan self respect and food culture.
