Preparations for ATA Convention in full swing

It is time that for every person of Telugu origin living in America to come to Atlanta Georgia from July 6th through July 8th to fill the halls of the world famous Georgia World Congress Center to witness the Telugu Gala organized to celebrate our presence in America and our efforts to preserve our culture and traditions.

With known reputation of organizing excellent conferences that are second to none, ATA teamed with local Telugu organizations with co-host TAMA and Co-sponsor GATA is all geared up to welcome you all to Atlanta with variety programs including but not limited to educational, literary, entertainment and cultural activities.

The ATA national team under the leadership of President Rajender Jinna along with his team of President Elect Karunakar Madhavaram, Secretary Ram Mohan Konda, Treasurer Satyanaryana Kandimalla, Convention Convener Karunakar Asireddy, Convention Coordinator Jagan Mohan Rao, Convention Secretary Parmesh Bheemreddy and with other members of this team (ad-hoc committee), various committee chairs and members are busy in giving final touches to all programs comprising of various cultural, spiritual, banquet, food, sports, literary, seminar events that would appeal to all generations of Telugu heritage migrated from Andhra Pradesh as well as the generation that is born and raised here in USA.

The event will kick-off with Awards Banquet dinner to honor the donors and accomplished ones on Friday, July 6th followed by two days of various activities that caters the needs of all age groups. A social hour is designed to meet your old friends, families and acquaintances to revisit your memories or experiences followed by ATA awards.

These awards are given to people of Telugu origin in America who have accomplished a distinction in their field such as science, literature, community service etc.

It has been long standing commitment of ATA to promote the Telugu talent across America to share their talent with the distinguished audience during the entertainment program as conclusion to Banquet. The singers include Sudhamai, Raja Rajeshwari, Bhuvanakruthi (child prot'g'), Vijayalakshmi, Vinod and Kumar Vempaty.

The inaugural day is on July 7th where the curtain raises with a dance paying tribute to our culture and our efforts to preserve it here in America. We have several guests bringing in a message from various walks of life including union minister Pallam Raju, state ministers Sabitha Reddy, Kanna Lakshmi Narayana; DK Aruna, Galla Aruna Kumari, Vatti Vasant Kumar, Anam Ramnarayan Reddy, various personalities of public life such as Nannapaneni Rajakumari, Roja, Indrasena Reddy, Kishan Reddy. Spiritual leaders from India, Mayor of Atlanta and Governor of Georgia etc.

The afternoon activities include semi-final competitions 'JUMMANDHI NADAM' for singing and 'SAYYANDI PADAM' for dancing. In addition there are several forums and seminars that you all would be excited to attend and learn about various issues.

We even have regional development forums to see if you can convey a message to your village mandal or district how you can help them in their issues.

We have a unique program 'ENCOUNTER WITH RAVI PRAKASH' (TV9) where you can participate to live television audience across USA and Andhra Pradesh.

The evening activities include tantalizing youth shows, Lifetime achievement award to VEMPATI CHINNA SATYAM for his contribution to the advancement of Kuchipudi dance, various classical and semi classical and Tollywood dances and ending with Tollywood comedians AVS, VENU MADHAV, RAGHU BABU, GUNDU HANMANTH RAO, HEMA AND SRINIVAS REDDY.

The attendees will be treated to a great hospitality with breakfast, lunch and dinner each day of the conference and the food would be mouthwatering from the first bite as it has been carefully selected to represent the various regions of Andhra Pradesh.

Morning and afternoon sessions of July 8th include Ashtavadhanam by Garikapati Narasimha Rao, a famous literary figure, CME seminar, Tollywood Meet where ALLU ARJUN, ILLEANA, Director SURENDER REDDY, Producer DIL RAJU etc will interact with audience.

The evening session would again have special cultural events including GORETI VENKANNA'S folk songs and GAZAL SRINIVAS songs with grand final musical extravaganza by THAMAN, Music Director of recent hit movies, Dookudu, Businessman etc.
