Minister reviews arrangements for Bonalu festival Hyderabad, June 19 (INN): The State Government will make elaborate arrangements for the peaceful conduct of annual Bonalu festival and procession in the city.
The Bonalu festival will be held from July 6 to July 15 while the main procession will be taken out in the Old City on July 16.
In a meeting held on Tuesday at Jubilee Hall to review the arrangements Hyderabad-district Incharge Minister Dr J Geetha Reddy instructed the various departments to make fool-proof arrangements for the smooth conduct of the festival.
The minister asked the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to take special measures to ensure health and sanitation during the festival season.
She said the GHMC would have to be extra cautious in view of monsoon. She said that the officials should keep a close watch to ensure that all safety measures in preparation of 'prasadam'.
The meeting was attended by ministers M Mukesh Goud (Marketing) and C Ramchandraiah (Endowments), Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma, HMWSSB MD Aadhar Sinha, Hyderabad District Collector Natrajan Gulzar and senior officials of others departments.
