Governor prays at Lord Jagannatha Swamy Temple Hyderabad, June 21 (INN): Governor E S L Narasimhan on Thursday stated that he has prayed for peace, harmony, progress and prosperity in the State and country at the Lord Jagannatha Swamy Temple in Banjara Hills.
Talking to media persons after offering special pooja to Lord Jagannatha Swamy to mark his annual Rath Yatra, Narasimhan said that the Rath Yatra of Jagannatha Swamy unites all sections of the society and increase harmony among the people.
Meanwhile, the temple authorities have taken up Lord Balbhadra, Subhadra Devi and Jagannatha Swamy idols in a procession on flower decked chariot.
Large number of devotees participated in the Ratha Yatra and to witness Lord Jagannatha Swamy.
Prominent personalities including former Director General of Police A K Mohanthi also participated in the Rath Yatra.
Meanwhile, the police made elaborate security arrangements to prevent untoward incidents during the Ratha Yatra.
