Six held in Falaknuma firing case Hyderabad, June 24 (INN): The City Police on Sunday arrested six out of seven people including a 55-year-old woman in connection with Falaknuma firing case.
Addressing a press conference here, City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma informed that seven people have been arrested on the charges of attempting to murder realtor Mohd Mansoor on June 21 while he was proceeding on motor cycle from Vattepally towards Engine Bowli.
The arrested accused are Mohd Afroz (24), Mohd Aleem (26), Habeeb Ismail Sankari (22), Abeda Begum (55), Mohd Naseeruddin (25), Mohammad and Mohd Akbar (25).
According to Police Commissioner, during enquiry it was revealed that the injured Mansoor was a prime accused in killing of Abu Baker during August 2011 under Shalibanda police station limits.
Mohd Aleem, the second accused, who was a childhood friend of Abu Baker was determined to take revenge and was also instigated by Abeda Begum, Abu Baker's mother, and Ismail.
He said there was a property dispute in the family of one Habeeb Mohammad Sankari between his sons and daughters regarding a residential land measuring 1900 sq yards in Qazipura.
Anurag Sharma said that to execute their plan, Md Aleem contacted his friend Afroz and later they approached Mohammad, a cousin of Afroz to procure fire arms.
About three months back, according to their plan, Aleem and Afroz with the help of Mohammad, procured two country made firearms and seven live cartridges of 8 mm. The money was given by Ismail.
As per the plan, on the day of offence, Aleem was riding the motorcycle while Afroz was a pillion rider. Both were carrying fire arms. Another accused Naseer kept track of Mansoor's movements and informed Aleem about it.
When Mansoor reached Bibi Ka Chashma his motor cycle got slow due to traffic. Meanwhile, Afroz fired on Mansoor with a country made single fire arm causing head injury, the Commissioner said.
Mansoor was later shifted to the Nizam's Institute of Medical Science where he is still undergoing treatment.
The police has recovered two country made single shot firearms, five live cartridges of 8mm, one dagger, two motor cycles used in commission of offence and six cell phones from the possession of the accused.
One accused, Mohammad, an auto driver of Jhirra, is still absconding. The arrested accused are being remanded to judicial custody.
