2 M.Tech students drown in Gandipet lake HYDERABAD: Two M.Tech students drowned in the Gandipet lake while fishing. Another student was rescued by the locals here on Sunday evening.
According to police, the three- Alimuddin (23), Mohammed Abdul (24) and Mohammed Abdul Hakeem (24) were first year M.Tech students at Shadan Engineering College and roommates, residing at Langerhouz.
They drowned while they were fishing at around 3.30 pm on Sunday. Locals noticed them and rescued Hakeem.
But the bodies of the other two students could not be traced. 'Being a Sunday, the three came to the lake for fishing,'' Narsingi inspector P Narayana said, adding that they brought swimmers to the spot to fish out the missing students.
