Police commissioner's mom-in-law robbed HYDERABAD: Thieves have no discrimination with regard to their targets. This was amply proved at Kukatpally on Monday when no less a person than the mother-in-law of Cyberabad police commissioner Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao was robbed of 20 tolas of gold jewellery which she had just bought from a shop nearby.
Two unidentified men snatched a hand bag containing 20 tolas of gold from the sexagenarian woman who was returning along with her relatives from a jewellery shop after buying gold ornaments.
According to eyewitness accounts, two young men in their twenties came on a bike and snatched away the bag from her.
The police, however, were tightlipped on the incident. A senior police officer directed the police to form a special team to nab the thieves.
Kukatpally police suspect the involvement of a notorious chain-snatching gang in the latest incident and are questioning chain-snatchers who have a crime record.
