A dream shattered: Suresh Medisetty is no more

Atlanta, GA: A 30-year-old Telugu man who was brain dead on diving into a swimming pool and hitting the floor in his apartment complex at Greenville in South Carolina state of the USA breathed his last on Friday, July 27th.

This is most unfortunate incident that could happen to a young person who came to USA with so many dreams. It is very very unfortunate to end his life so suddenly when he is just got his Green Card approval and settling down. As per his friends in Greenville he is very nice person, always helpful and very organized and had many plans for his life. He is the eldest in the family and worked really hard to help his family and friends from the day he left India and just now settling down and trying to plan his own life.

Because of his good deeds his news reached all over USA and Global Indian community and many people prayed and even cried. Many people were hoping he will back. But after struggling for 10 days he breathed his last.

Still living through Organ Donation

Within few hours Suresh's organs including his heart, Kidneys, Lungs are transplanted to 5 members in America and Suresh is living through them.

Various Telugu associations including the representatives of TANA, ATA, NATA and NATS with the help of local Telugu Association of Greater Greenville and NRI Vasavi Association (NRIVA), all his friends are extending support to the family.

Dev, Kishore Mallecheruvu, Venu Sama and many others worked day and night since the tragedy happened to save him by talking to hospitals, doctors, specialists and in parallel doing prayers, be with the family, fundraising, logistics, visa arrangement for Suresh's family members etc.

NRIVA was able to help with collecting over $40,000 in very short span of time and gave the check to his family last night at a prayer meeting in Greenville. This is not simply the money but more importantly this money is the first response of many hearts and this is the prayers of several hundreds of people and their blessings to Suresh's wife Surekha and Son Atul. NRIVA promised to continue to monitor the family and try to take care of the family to the fullest extent.

NRIVA will continue to accept the contributions for few more days and is trying to take care of sending Suresh's body to India.

Telugu community across the United States prayed for his soul to rest in peace.

Suresh Medishetty, an IT professional, drowned in the pool on July 17 and was rescued by a neighbour. He was rushed to a hospital where doctors said that his brain had suffered irreparable damage. It was unclear if it was caused by his drowning or something else made his brain stop working and resulted in his drowning.
