NATS helping impacted students of Herguan University In one more unfortunate fraud University instance, Federal agents raided Herguan University in Sunnyvale, California and charged it's CEO with Visa fraud and closed the University on Thursday.
This case could throw into question, the immigration status for about 450 students enrolled at Herguan. Majority of the affected students in this University are from India and predominantly, Telugu Students. This incident is similar to Tri-Valley University incident which happened last year.
North America Telugu Society (NATS), the premier service organization for Telugus is championing the effort to work with the University, Students, Consulate and US Immigration Officials to help the students.
If the University is closed, students must enroll in an accredited school to maintain their legal status or go home empty handed after spending thousands of dollars for the degree.
Many worried parents reached out to NATS to help their children. NATS would be helping the students to find admission in other Universities, would provide legal assistance and also would arrange meetings with SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) representatives and US authorities through Indian Embassy.
Any of the students who need help can call NATS 24 hours at 1-888-4-Telugu or please send an email to info@natsworld.org.
In the past, NATS spearheaded the effort to help the students impacted in Tri Valley University by taking up various measures to help the students - Worked with US Immigration officials to prevent, the students from being deported to India, finding admissions for the impacted students, returning the Bond money, releasing all the detainees etc.
NATS also protested at the White House, met with Indian Ambassador and the consular officers to resolve the issues. NATS past experience in handling Tri Valley University is coming very handy to help the victims of Herguan University and any students in need of any help, can reach NATS.
