Chain snatchers held, 31 tolas gold recovered Hyderabad, September 3 (INN): The City Police on Monday arrested three alleged offenders who were allegedly involved in several cases of chain snatching.
Addressing a press conference, Assistance Commissioner of Police (Punjagutta Division) Venkata Narasaiah said that the accused - Shaik Mazhar, Syed Jaber and Mohd Sohai, aged between 19-20 years, were involved in chain snatching offences for the last six months.
On a tip off, Punjagutta inspector P Sataiah along with his team, arrested the offenders and seized 31 tolas of stolen gold jewellery, worth about Rs 9.50 lakh from their possession.
Two motorcycles used for the offences have also been seized. The police is also looking for some more accused, who are absconding.
