TDP asks CM to take steps to control spread of diseases in city Hyderabad, September 25 (INN): The Telugu Desam Party on Tuesday asked Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to direct the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to take immediate measures to control the outbreak of viral and seasonal diseases in the city.
Talking to reporters after submitting a memorandum to the Chief Minister, TDP GHMC floor leader Singireddy Srinivas Reddy told reporters that the GHMC officials have been neglected their responsibility of taking precautions to prevent the outbreak of diseases.
He said while the GHMC officials were busy carrying out the works for global bio-diversity conference, the city has been engulfed with various diseases.
Cases pertaining to malaria, Chikun Gunea and other contagious diseases are being reported in both government and private hospitals across the GHMC limits, he said.
Srinivas Reddy alleged that the GHMC officials were not lifting the garbage from the interior areas while focusing their attention on beautifying the main roads.
Therefore, he appealed to the Chief Minister to issue necessary instructions to the GHMC, Medical and Health Board, Andhra Pradesh Vaidya Vidhana Parishad and other medical organisations to supply timely immunization medicine for malaria and other viral fevers.
Further, he demanded that diseases including malaria, dengue, chikun gunea, swine flu, typhoid, cholera and other viral fevers too be included in the list of ailments, for the beneficiaries of Arogya Shree, so as to facilitate the poor and economically backward classes.
