Commissioner appeals to complete Nimajjanam by night Hyderabad, September 26 (INN): Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma on Wednesday appealed to the people to complete the Ganesh immersion as early as possible.
Addressing a press conference at City Police Commissionerate, Anurag Sharma said that elaborate arrangements have been made for the immersion of Ganesh idols at Tank Bund.
Stating that about 40,000 statues are likely to be immersed in the Hussain Sagar, he said that as many as 19 cranes have been installed for the speedy immersion.
Regarding Telangana March, he said that permission could not be given for the same in view of Ganesh immersion procession and Biodiversity Conference.
He said that he had appealed to TPJAC chairman Prof Kodandaram to postpone the Telangana March to prevent any untoward incidents in the wake of Ganesh immersion. He said that about 15,000 police personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order in the city.
