GHMC Job Mela to offer 4,000 jobs Hyderabad, Nov 8 (INN): GHMC Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain on Thursday nearly 3,500 to 4,000 jobs would be offered to the unemployed youth during the Job Mela of Central Zone to be held on November 20 at Banjara Function Hall at Banjara Hills.
The Mayor along with GHMC Commissioner MT Krishna Babu held a review meeting with the Zonal Commissioner (Central Zone), Additional Commissioner (UCD) along with senior officials with regard to the Job Mela at his chambers on Thursday.
He said as on today, about 800 job vacancies for SSC students, 1,000 and above for Intermediate, 750 and odd for Graduates and 500 and odd for MBA, B Pharmacy and Technical jobs have been short listed.
Altogether, approximately 3,500 to 4,000 jobs are likely to be provided to the unemployed youth by the GHMC, he said.
The Mayor said that the GHMC has interacted with top most corporate companies and nearly 40 companies have come forward to provide jobs to the unemployed youth.
He also informed that a training programme was being conducted for all the students in their respective fields, who were rejected in the past job mela held at South Zone and hoped that this time all those rejected candidates would definitely be provided with good job opportunities by the top most corporate companies.
Majid Hussain directed the officials of the GHMC to take up the works pertaining to job mela as was done in the past.
He also directed them to make necessary arrangements like water, seating to the parents, generator, arrangements of blocks where the students are being interviewed in a systematic manner without giving any scope for inconvenience to the students who are attending the job mela.
He also instructed the Zonal Commissioners to coordinate with Traffic Police in maintaining proper security arrangements at the venue and also to arrange First-Aid facilities, Medical Camp duly coordinating with the Medical and Health Departments.
The Additional Commissioner (Health and Sanitation) has been directed to look after the sanitation arrangements and also to provide tea, snacks and food arrangements, on payment basis, at the venue for the convenience of the participants.
The companies who have agreed to take part in the Job Mela include Shubha Gruha, Suvarna Bhoomi, Reliance, Medi-Plus, Bharathi Wall Mart, Sterling Home Care, Eureka Forbes, Autofin Honda, Dominos Pizza, Apollo Pharmacy, Heritage Foods and Caf' Coffee Day.
