Capitol Area Telugu Society Deepavali Dhamaka in MD

Capitol Area Telugu Society (CATS) celebrated Deepavali with traditional festivity on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Roosevelt High School, Greenbelt, MD.
Local talent including about 200 kids and a team from Tollywood performed exciting programs on stage as part of the celebrations, while an enthusiastic audience of over 1000 people attended the evening.
Organizers made vast arrangements for the Deepavali special dinner which includes variety of sweets and delicacies.
The cultural program stated with Jyothi Prajvalana by Sri Bhuvanesh Boojala, ISCON temple head & Rammohan Konda and welcome speech by Madhu Kola, secretary. Morethan 200 kids around the Washington,DC area participated and performed their dance skills.
Tollywood talent includes Actress-Ankita , singers Ranina Reddy & Dinakar and special mimicry performance by Mimicry Ramesh. Because of the over whelming response from the audience, the closing time was extended until midnight.
The team comprising of President-Bhuvanesh Boojala, Organization secretary-Madhu Kola, Cultural Secretary-Chandra Katuboina, Treasurer- Badri Challa, Web director - Bhaskar Bommareddy, Marketing - Amar Bojja, Prabhakar, and Anil Reddy, Prasad, Sai, Praveen Katungur, Sridhar Banala, Sai, Chandra Edam, Narsimha Reddy, Satyajit, Somesh, Venkat, Gopal, Srilekha, Aparna, Pushyami, Pavani, Laxmi Kola, and many more.
CATS recognized and felicitated DR.Anasuya Devi Garu & Dr.Seetaramayya Nagula garu for their achievements in the community. The audience gave a standing ovation to these great personalities.
This Deepavali event was sponsored by many donors from local Telugu community. CATS thanked all donors and volunteers for their unconditional contributions.
