Talasani appointed president of TDP's city unit Hyderabad: In a significant development, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu appointed party senior leader and former minister T Srinivas Yadav as the party president for Greater Hyderabad unit of the TDP.
By appointing Srinivas Yadav as the Greater Hyderabad president the party hopes to consolidate the BC votes. The party had already announced BC declaration earlier, promising 100 Assembly seats for BCs.
It also feels that, since Yadav is not an outright T protagonist, it would help the party win the confidence of people from other regions living here.
It will also help in softening the ruffled feelings of Yadav, who had revolted against party leadership for being denied Rajya Sabha seat in preference to another senior leader T Devender Goud.
Chandrababu Naidu personally called the TDP leader and handed over the letter appointing the party president of the Greater Hyderabad.
Naidu was on Vastunna Meekosam ' Padayatra in Chevella in Ranga Reddy district. Party sources said, Yadav has been elevated to counter the increasing poaching of the TDP leaders by YSR Congress in the city.
He was given free hand to strengthen the party and consolidate the vote bank by 2014 general election.
Speaking to newsmen here, Yadav said that he will work hard as a trusted soldier in the party.
'Though there is a competition for posts within the party, staying in regular touch with people and strengthening the party are the things that matter the most in politics.
He will strengthen the party and show to everyone the TDP's power in the City,' Yadav added.
