Common man in Andhra is not against Telangana Franklin Park, NJ: Common man in Coastal Andhra Pradesh is not against Telangana, said Justice B. Sudershan Reddy in Franklin Park, New Jersey on Monday evening at a private dinner party. The program was organized by Balavanth Reddy Kommidi, Board Member and Trustee of American Telugu Association (ATA) at his residence and is attended by several prominent Telugu people.
Telangana leaders and public should not make any negative comments on the Coastal Andhra public which will be counterproductive, said Justice Sudershan Reddy in the program while answering a question. Except few real estate businessmen and political leaders who acquired enormous amounts of lands in and around Hyderabad city, everybody else is welcoming the two state proposals, he said.
The land grabbers in and around Hyderabad not only looted Telangana, but also the people of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema, said Justice Reddy. Separate Telangana will make everyone in Telangana feel proud of their language and culture, he said. Formation of Telangana state will create more jobs and opportunities in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and that will benefit the entire Telugu community, he explained.
When there are several states for Hindi speaking people, why can't we have two states for Telugu speaking people, he questioned.
Hyderabad is and should be part of Telangana, he said while answering a question. However he clarified that Hyderabad is developed by everybody in Andhra Pradesh and every Telugu person can always come and live in Hyderabad peacefully even after the formation of Telangana.
Coastal Andhra Pradesh has a vast line of sea coast and several well developed cities including Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Kakinada, Eluru, Vijayawada, Guntur, Nellore, he said. Coastal Andhra people need not depend on Hyderabad and their cities will develop even further when separate Telangana is formed, he explained.
