Mayor blacklists contractors for delay in works
Hyderabad, Dec 10 (INN): GHMC Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain on Monday directed the officials to black list the contractors who failed to complete the works within the stipulated time.
While reviewing the progress of works with the GHMC Corporators and officials of Rajendranagar Circle, the Mayor was informed that some contractors were yet to complete the works despite the end of deadline.
Reacting to the complaint, the Mayor directed the Zonal Commissioner (South) N Ravi Kiran to black list the contractors and call for fresh tenders.
Majid Hussain also asked the Zonal Commissioner and the Town Planning Wing to submit a detailed report of TATA Nagar and Shasthripuram where recently several demolitions have been taken place and further directed to take up the left over pollution units in the coming weeks duly coordinating with concerned Corporators.
The Corporators - Habeeb Zain Arif, T Premdas Goud, Farhana Begum and Satyanarayana also complained that the mosquito menace was on higher side and the fogging machines which were allotted were not able to cope up to control the menace.
They requested him to allot some more fogging machines, tricycles, garbage bins, sweeping machines and maintenance of streetlights. They also complained that the garbage was also not been lifting properly which posed serious threat to the health of people in the Rajendranagar Circle.
