Mayor orders action against erring engineers, drunken staff Hyderabad, December 20 (INN): GHMC Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain on Thursday ordered the shuffling of engineers who are long standing and creating some problems.
The Mayor issued these instructions while responding to the complaints by the corporators about officials being partial in working some parts of the division during a review meeting with regard to civic related issues in Circle No 4.
During the review meeting, the Mayor directed the Chief Engineer to come up with the proposals pertaining to modernization of hot mix plant at Moosarambagh.
He also directed the Chief Entomologist to be vigilant and to take up random check duly arranging breath analyzers to control and punish the erring employees.
The corporators complained that at least 50 per cent of the Entomology staff was working in inebriated condition while posing threat to the women in the Old city.
Responding to the allegation of bad condition of debris removal, Majid Hussain said wherever the debris removal have been taken up the concerned Executive Engineer must take a letter from the concerned corporator for the clearance to settle the bill.
Meanwhile, GHMC Commissioner MT Krishyna Babu said that the proposal for junction improvement of Sanksehwar Nagar was ready and would be placed before the Standing Committee and further instructed that each Zone must take up at least 1500 rain water harvesting structures in the coming summer season.
The Commissioner also informed that 80 Assistant Engineers posts were being filled by this month end. He also directed the Additional Commissioner (H&S) to purchase the garbage bins wherever they are required.
Krishna Babu also instructed the Chief Engineer to fix up the targets for blacklisting the contractors, at circle level, who are failed to ground the works even after completion of 45 days.
He has directed CE to issue them notices and cancel the work. He also directed the Engineer-in-Chief to initiate action against those concerned Engineers of their jurisdiction for their negligence by not taking action on culprits with regard to the demolition of GHMC properties like bridges.
The Commissioner also directed the Zonal Commissioner to fix up the schedule of Assistant Engineer along with the concerned Corporator for inspecting the electrical works.
Some corporators complained that the Pan Cards were not being issued for which the Commissioner has directed the Additional Commissioner (Planning) to sort out the issue within 10 days, by consulting VSPN agency, who is looking after EPF and ESI of GHMC employees.
