GHMC Council likely to meet in Jan: Danam Hyderabad, December 26 (INN): Labour Minister and Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee president Danam Nagender hoped that the General Body meeting of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation would be convened in the first week of January.
Speaking to INN at Begumpet Airport here on Wednesday, Nagender said that the Congress party would not remain silent over the delay in convening the GHMC council meeting.
He informed that Deputy Mayor G Rajkumar, on behalf of Congress party, on Wednesday submitted a letter to Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain requesting him to convene the council's meeting.
Nagender said that the Congress party would not escape from its responsibility of holding the council's meeting on time and it would take necessary steps if the Mayor delays the meeting further.
He said the issue has already been discussed with the Congress party's members of GHMC Standing Committee on Tuesday.
The Minister also informed that the party would soon nominate a new GHMC floor leader in the place of Kaleru Venkatesh who recently joined the YSR Congress party.
