Venkat Maroju elected president Telangana NRI Association Philadelphia, PA: Telangana NRI Association (TeNA), a registered non-profit multi-cultural organization working toward the development and cultural aspects of Telangana community in the US and abroad today announced unanimously elected new executive body.
Venkat Marjou was elected as new President of the organization and Swamy Venkatayogi as Board Chair. Past Chairman Ravi Mayreddy and Convener Hari Maroju who served the organization for the past four years will remain on the board and serve on executive committee.
Aditionally, TeNA's board elected Amar Karmilla as Vice President, Sumanth Garakarajula as General Secretary, Rajender Kalvala as Treasurer. Srinivas Kompalli and Hari Paramkusham will serve the board as Joint Secretary and Joint-Treasurer respectively.
'Ravi Mayreddy has done a remarkable job of building and strengthening of TeNA since its inception through their leadership and dedication,' said Swamy Venkatayogi. 'I have big shoes to fill and I look forward to continuing that work in the role of Board Chair. The core value of TeNA is commitment for the society, the cause and to the democratic values. We have resolved to uphold these values with accountability and transparency.'
'TeNA as organization is open minded and do not hesitate to reach out and collaborate with other entities working for the cause of Telangana.'
Venkat Maroju, the newly elected president said, 'As the Telangana culture is getting the global identity, the TeNA is committed to work with the community here in the US and back home and rest of the world. I am look forward serving the organization with all my zeal and commitment.'
Ravi Mayreddy, the past Chairman of the organization said, 'TeNA had been forefront in taking up the cause of Telangana, culture, identity and the formation of the state. We have been working with the community here and the activists back home to achieve our objectives and, we will continue to do so.'
'I welcome the new energetic executive body and wish all the best. I am very hopeful that the new executive body will make remarkable contribution to the organization and to the Telangana cause.'
The past convener of TeNA, Hari Maroju, said, 'We held the meeting for two days and had deliberations extensively. More than 15 board members were able to attend in-person and the rest joined us on telephone-bridge,' he added, 'TeNA Board restructured the organizations titles and amended its constitution on various aspects. We believe the new structure will help the newly elected body in strengthening the organizations.'
'Apart from the elections, we have resolved to increase the membership and activities. We have agreed on setting goals for fund raising and hopefully we will meet and exceed in coming years.'
Apart from the elected and past executive committee, TeNA board members, Shailendra Sanam, Vikram Routu, Vishnu Madhavaram, Rammohan Suraneni, Bharat Yedma, Siddartha Pamulaparthy, Raghu Veerabelli, Hari Krishna Vangala took part in the proceedings. TeNA board members thanked Philadelphia team for facilitating the meeting and Madhava Mosarla for hosting the after-meeting dinner for the community.
