Police ask auto-drivers to be polite with commuters Hyderabad, January 17 (INN): The Cyberabad Police on Thursday asked the auto-rickshaw drivers to adhere to the rules to avoid inconvenience to the commuters.
The Cyberabad Police made it mandatory for all auto drivers plying in the Cyberabad limits to invariably wear the uniform, while driving the autos.
The auto drivers shall not take extra fair on and above the meter and the autos should run only on the meter approved by RTA Authorities. No Extra Passengers are allowed beside the driver i.e., in the front seat.
The auto drivers have been asked to behave politely with the passengers, especially with the women passengers.
In this connection, the Cyberabad Traffic Police will conduct special drive by way of conducting awareness programme for one week from Friday to January 29 to auto drivers to inculcate professionalism, orderliness, sense of duty, service motive and discipline, while performing the duty and to follow the above rules scrupulously.
After completion of awareness programme, if auto drivers are found violating the above rules, they will be severely penalised and will not be allowed to run the autos as per the MV Act Rules, the Cyberabad Police said.
