Illegal buildings razed at Manikonda HYDERABAD: Amidst protests by local residents, revenue officials of Rangareddy district demolished several illegal constructions in Panchavati Colony of Manikonda area, situated on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
The razing of illegally erected buildings in Manikonda, which was halted earlier due to intervention of Rajendranagar MLA Prakash Goud, has been now taken up again. Revenue officials slapped notices on over 400 persons whose buildings were unauthorised.
While officials armed with the Lokayukta orders descended on Manikonda with bulldozers and other material, residents obstructed the drive and threatened to commit suicide. But the police present thwarted their move.
Meanwhile, locals protested that the officials are taking action against the illegal constructions after they had paid full money for the flats.
