Mayor suspends Asst Engineer for negligence
Hyderabad, February 23 (INN): GHMC Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain on Saturday instructed the Zonal Commissioner (Central Zone) to suspend M A Haleem, Assistant Engineer, Circle-7, for his negligent attitude towards measure book (M-Book).
He conducted a surprise inspection in the Central Zone Office at Khairtabad and he could witness that a contractor was filling an M-book, which was issued to MA Haleem, AE.
During his inspection, the Mayor has found that Town Planning Staff of Circle -7 and 10 were not available in the office. He has directed the Zonal Commissioner (Central) to list out the names of the officers who are not available between 3 PM-5 PM (during visit hours) even after regular instructions and circulars to follow the visiting hours stringently.
Audit Superintendent, Circle -7, AMOH, Circle-7, DAO, (Divisional Accounts Officer), Circle-10 and Executive Engineers, Circle-7 are some of the officers who are not available during visiting hours.
The Mayor has ordered for vigilance enquiry on all the occupancy certificates issued in Circle-7 and 8 and directed the concerned officials to submit a detailed report along with the photographs of the buildings.
During his inspection of Citizen Service Centre, Majid Hussain could recall that he has pointed out the non-availability of drinking water and proper seating arrangements for the public and it remained same during his present visit also.
He suggested the officers concerned that this sort of negligent attitude of the officials has to be changed and he has apologized the general public for such lapses.
He has given strict instructions to the officials that this type of attitude towards civic related issues is not allowed in GHMC till there is a political body.
The Mayor has verified the property tax inward register of Circle-10, the Town Planning inward register, Circle-10 registers of BPS and occupancy certificates pending applications and notices given to unauthorized structures in last six months and asked the officials to submit the Xerox copies of the same.
Standing Committee member Mohd Ghouse Pasha, Zonal Commissioner D Ronald Rose, Deputy Commissioners AV Ramani and T Sakala Reddy and some of the Corporators of Central Zone have participated in the inspection.
