SiliconAndhra Maatlaata Registrations in Progress
New Jersey, USA: SiliconAndhra ManaBadi announces US-wide 'Telugu Maatlaata' contests to raise the levels of competitiveness and mastery over the language among Telugu-speaking kids in the US. Registrations in progress.
SiliconAndhra ManaBadi, the program to teach Telugu to NRI kids, has been successful for the past 6 years teaching Telugu to 2500+ kids across the USA and in other nations such as Canada, UK, Ukraine and Kuwait. To encourage students, to foster their competitive spirit and enhance their skills in the language, SiliconAndhra ManaBadi launched a competition based program called 'Telugu Maatlaata'. Under this program, language based games are conducted for kids to participate and compete for two age groups - 6 to 11 years (Sisindreelu) and 12 - 16 years (Chiruthalu).
' Padarangam ( Similar to "Spelling Bee")
' Tirakaatam (Similar to "Jeopardy")
' OniMa (Similar to 'Just a Minute')
All kids from Telugu-speaking families are eligible to participate in these contests. The regional competitions will be held in 15 different populous cities in USA between the months of April and June. The winners from the regionals would take part in the Nationals that will be conducted in Bay Area during the Labor Day long weekend in September. There will be grand prizes for the winners and certificates for all the participants. These events will be presented in all the major Television and Internet/Social media. So let's get our kids started in preparing for these intensely fun language competitions, first of a kind for Telugu language.
