Fundraising for flood victims at Bharatiya Temple on July 1st Chalfont, PA: Bharatiya Temple at Chalfont, PA is organizing prayer services and fundraising for the victims of torrential rain and flood disaster in Northern Indian state of Uttarakhand including many pilgrimage areas on Monday, July 1st, 2013 at 8 PM.

More than 2 Million people are displaced and the total number of deaths could soar to several thousands. The rescue operation centered on evacuating nearly 27,000 people trapped in the worst-hit area, near Kedarnath temple, one of the holiest Hindu shrines to Lord Shiva. Soldiers and other workers reopened doz-ens of roads by building makeshift bridges, accelerating the evacuation of nearly 62,000 people. The River Ganga and its tributaries are flowing above the danger mark in several areas in the Himalayan state.
