NATS to support Bright Life Foundation St. Louis, USA: North America Telugu Society (NATS) announced its support to Bright Life Foundation and asked every Telugu person in the US to "support an orphan child's education for as little as $10 per month for just a year or two."
North America Telugu Society (NATS), is proud to adopt Bright Life Foundation, a non-profit (IRS approved 501-C-3) non-political, non-religious organization dedicated to uplifting the lives of under privileged children including orphans, street children, tribal children and HIV positive orphans through access to high quality education in a nurturing environment, said NATS in a press statement.
NRI Dr. Polineni Subbarao from Saint Louis founded the Bright Life Foundation. In his own words: As the founder of this organization, I can personally attest to the value of giving a child in need the gift of education as I experienced a similar childhood after losing my parents at a young age. Through the generosity of relatives and God's grace, I was able to overcome obstacles and realize my potential & talent to become a practicing hand surgeon today. My experience has motivated me to help children from similar circumstances escape the cycle of poverty and become productive citizens with the ability to achieve their individual potential through access to basic needs and education. In this effort, I opened the Sri Sarada Nikethan Public School for orphans and street children, in Martur, Prakasham district Andhra Pradesh. The Bright Life Foundation was similarly created for this purpose and registered as a IRS 501 (c) in St. Louis, MO to build and support this school along with other efforts related to improving child welfare.
Sri Sarada Nikethan Public School was started in 2009 and has a current enrollment of over 300 children in grades 1-10. The school is committed to providing children with a high quality English medium education with accredited CBSE curriculum. In addition to education, we are also focused on providing our children a nurturing environment that offers physical and emotional support through counseling, health care, proper nutrition and guidance to develop life skills.
Since the inception of the school, we have been able to complete 50,000 sq.ft of buildings including a hostel for 300 children, a secondary school with labs, libraries and classrooms per CBSE standards; dining halls, kitchen, and auditorium for indoor activities in addition to temporary buildings for the primary school.
The majority of the construction and maintenance of the school has been completed at a cost of $1.5 million- of which 85-90% comes directly from the founders family and the balance from generosity of like-minded people. Our focus now lies in building our Endowment fund to ensure that the annual operational needs are met to keep the doors open for future generations of orphans and street children. The endowment provides assurance that many more vulnerable children will be able to have their basic needs met in a nurturing environment with access to quality education and develop the tools they need to succeed. Your help is crucial. "Support an orphan child's education for as little as $10 per month for just a year or two." Your donation is kept in the bank, with only the accrued interest to be used for annual operations. Please help us in our efforts as "a little change can make a big change in a childs life".
