Vijay Mohan Kakarla takes over as President of TANTEX


Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, USA: Telugu Association of North Texas (TANTEX) has announced the 2014 governing board. Vijay Mohan Kakarla has been declared as the President, Dr. Narasimha Reddy Urimindi as President Elect, Subramanyam Jonnalagadda as Vice President.

Dallas/Fort Worth in Texas which is often termed the Telugu cultural capital of America has many literary lovers holding passion for Telugu literature deeply rooted in them. Ever since its inception in 1986, TANTEX has been predominantly serving for the welfare of the Telugu people residing in and around Dallas/Fort Worth area. TANTEX has been recognized as an association on par with national organizations in the USA.



In continuing their incredible tradition, TANTEX has announced the 2014 governing board. Vijay Mohan Kakarla has been declared as the President of TANTEX for 2014. Living for over 15 years in the DFW, Vijay Kakarla has been an active member in various capacities as office bearer and an active volunteer in town. Vijay Mohan Kakarla termed that he is blessed to be sworn-in as the president and assured that he will do full justice to the coveted position.

Declaring his interests during his tenure Vijay Kakarla mentioned preserving the Telugu culture and tradition, focusing on Telugu language by involving future generations are some of the critical aspects. Providing wholesome entertainment, creative programs to attract more people towards TANTEX and safeguarding their interests.

' 'Ganasudha' the signature radio program of TANTEX to be reinstated in AM/FM radio, a radio show that has served for over 12 years.
' Innovative literary, cultural programs, emphasis on health aspects, harmonizing the community via conducting various tournaments such as Volleyball, Cricket, Kabaddi, Tennis.
' Conducting orientation to parents whose children are going to college & providing insight to the needs.

Speaking on the occasion, outgoing president Suresh Manduva recalled it was a fulfilling experience in 2013 being able to co-host two national conferences in Dallas.
