TANA announced AP, Telangana Funds Boston, USA: Mohan Nannapaneni, President of TANA announced today that TANA Executive Committee is creating two special earmarked funds AP Capital Development Fund, for the development of the new capital of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Development Fund for development of Telangana.
TANA Executive Committee took this decision following the request of several TANA members wanting to take a constructive role in the development of the two states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. An additional incentive for donors in USA is that donations to these TANA funds are tax-deductible in USA. Donations can be made to either one or both funds per donor's choice. TANA will consult with the respective state governments regarding the appropriate utilization and disbursement of these funds.
Mohan Nannapaneni noted that based on the conversations he had with many members, North American Telugus are quite enthusiastic about helping the development of their mother land. He anticipates that these members will contribute both their ideas and money to the development of both states. 'If the two governments respond properly, this enthusiasm can result in millions of dollars for the development of both the states'.
Jayaram Komati, Director of TANA Board of Directors and Satish Vemana, Secretary of TANA are closely working with new state and central governments in identifying projects and needs.
