Jupally warns action against erring officials Hyderabad, May 7 (INN): Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Saturday conducted a review meeting with Special Chief Secretary S.P.Singh , Commissioner Anita Ramchandran and ENC Satyanarayana Reddy and other officials.
While reviewing, he instructed that targets should be fixed for all field assistants, Technical Asst., Asst. Project Officer and responsibility should be fixed and if they are unable to perform action should be initiated against them.
He instructed that a tleast 50% of the jobseekers with cards should be provided with employment. He also said works with reference to schools, colleges, grave yards, land leveling, Pits etc should be taken up so as to create an opportunity for creating more employment by generating work.
Later, the Minister met the leaders of the TJAC of State APOs, Computer Assistants, Field Assistants, Fixed tenure Assistants and others who requested him for enhancement of salaries of NREGS employees, Health cards and job security, among other demands which are pending since months. The Minister informed that government will discuss and take action in a positive way at the earliest. He informed them that the MGNREGS program was the Government of India's special flagship program and as long as the scheme continues you all will continue there is no need to be worried about it, with regard to the salaries he said the government would work out the best positive keeping in view the suggestions and requests of the employees and maximum help would be extended.
Jupally told the officials and the TJAC members that they should encourage the workers and create an area like a ADDA where all the workers can assemble every day in the morning for work and it would be very beneficial if they could be made to assemble early in the morning so that they can get better wages. He told them that "you should try to get them to work early, You should motivate them to work and also create an awareness of the works available, He said that they should generate more labour, He informed them to try to create work for at least 50 percent of the wage seekers that way 55 to 60 lakhs can be employed. Due to which all would be benefited directly and indirectly.
The Minister assured that he would call for regular meetings and also conduct field visits.
