Ganeswara Rao takes over as SCR CCM Hyderabad, May 9 (INN): P. Ganeswara Rao took charge as Chief Commercial Manager of South Central Railway here on Monday.
He belongs to the Indian Railways Traffic Service, 1983 batch of Civil Services. Before taking over charge of the new assignment, he served as Chief Operations Manager, South Western Railway, Hubli.
Ganeswara Rao holds a Post Graduate Degree in Public Policy & Management, and a Masters Degree in Science (M.Sc.). Commencing his career on Indian Railways in 1985, he has worked at Mysore, Tiruchirapalli, Palghat, Madurai, Chennai, Hubli and Secunderabad in various capacities in Operations and Commercial departments of the Railways. Amongst the assignments he held, are as Chief Commercial Manager (Freight Services), Chief Commercial Manager (Catering & Passenger Services), South Central Railway and as Chief Freight Transportation Manager, South Western Railway, Hubli. He also attended a Management Development Programme at Maxwell School of Public Affairs and Citizenship, Syracuse, University, New York, USA.
He holds a keen interest in cultural activities and has been the President of South Central Railway Lalitha Kala Samithi, the cultural wing of SCR, during his previous stint on this Railway, according to a press release.
