Telangana Govt plans mortuary ambulance service Hyderabad, May 13 (INN): Health Minister Dr. Lakshma Reddy informed that the Telangana Government was planning to launch the Mortuary Ambulance service.
Speaking to media persons in Mahabubnagar on Friday, the minister said that the first-of-its-kind service in the country would provide free transportation of dead bodies from the mortuary to the residence as many poor people could not afford to hire private vehicles for the same. He said no other government has even thought of providing this kind of service.
The minister also informed that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has almost doubled the budget for the health sector this year. He said that the government would provide free diagnostic services to the poor people in all government hospitals. He said pregnant women would get free transportation to the hospital at the time of delivery and also at the time of discharge.
The minister announced that that Kodangal Government Hospital would be upgraded to 100-bedded hospital soon. He warned the staff of stern action if they fail to maintain cleanliness and hygienic conditions in hospitals.
