KTR inaugurates modernized slaughter houses Hyderabad, May 19 (INN): Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister K. Tarakarama Rao on Thursday inaugurated the Ramasthpura, Amberpet and Bhoiguda slaughter houses which have been modernized with latest technology.
According to GHMC, the major objective of modernization is to provide wholesome, hygienic and safe meat to the citizens by avoiding environmental pollution, wastage of by products and undue cruelty to the animals by using humane methods of slaughter.
Speaking on the occasion, KTR said that the modernization of slaughter house at Ramnasthpura was taken up for the pollution control and avoid open slaughtering in the lanes and by lanes of the old city. He appealed the citizens not to do open slaughtering in the lanes and by lanes and to utilize the modernized slaughter house by paying a minimum fee of Rs. 100/- per goat. Responding to the plea of Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, the Minister assured that Chengicherla rendering plant work would also be taken up very shortly.
MLC Mohammed Saleem, Bahadurpura MLA Mohammed Mozam Khan, Area Corporators, local representatives, GHMC Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, and senior officials have participated in the inauguration function.
