Farmers will get 9-hour power: Pocharam Hyderabad, May 22 (INN): Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Sunday reiterated that the Telangana Government would provide nine hour power supply during day time soon.
Speaking after launching the Mission Kakatiya works in Biknoor mandal of Nizamabad district, the minister said that the State Government was making all arrangements to provide power for nine-hours during day time to the farm sector. He claimed that the agriculture sector would be 24-hour power supply in the next two years.
Pocharam said the Kakatiya Rulers had constructed nearly 76,000 tanks and lakes during the 11th Century. However, nearly 30,000 lakes have vanished so far and the Telangana Government has initiated the Mission Kakatiya to revive and strengthen existing 46,000 lakes. He hoped that the successful implementation of Mission Kakatiya would provide a major boost to agricultural sector in the State.
