Vinod, Vivek defends their decision Hyderabad, June 13 (INN): Former minister G. Vinod and his brother and ex-MP G. Vivek has strongly defended their decision to leave Congress to join the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi.
Speaking to media persons here on Monday, Vinod said he was joining the TRS to fulfil the dream of his father late G. Venkataswamy of development of Telangana. He said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has a comprehensive plan for the overall development of Telangana. Therefore, he said he wanted to strengthen KCR to fulfil the dream of his late father.
Vivek said he was thankful to Congress president Sonia Gandhi for granting statehood for Telangana. He said he had joined the TRS before the formation of Telangana and re-joined the Congress after Telangana was formed. However, he said he was re-joining the TRS for the sake of development of the new State.
