Mallanna Sagar, a boon to Telangana: Expert
Hyderabad, June 19 (INN): Irrigation expert Shyam Prasad said that the proposed Mallanna Sagar project would irrigate 10 lakh acres of land in various districts in Telangana and was a boon to the state.
Speaking at a round table meet on the Mallanna Sagar project at RTC Kalyanamandapam here on Sunday, Prasad alleged that the opposition leaders connived with Andhra Pradesh leaders to oppose the project from becoming a reality. He said that the State Government should go ahead with the project in the interest of Telangana. The round table meet was organized by various farmers' unions.
In a related development, Medak police foiled the two-day hunger strike undertaken in protest against the Mallanna Sagar project.
