Congress warns of State wide protest Hyderabad, June 24 (INN): The Congress party on Friday demanded that the Telangana Government immediately rollback the hike in RTC fares and electricity user charges.
Addressing separate press conferences, TPCC Vice-President Dr. Mallu Ravi and former minister Dr. G. Chinna Reddy warned that if the State Government does not rollback the hiked charges, then Congress would stage large scale protests by uniting all opposition parties. They said that the protests would be at every nook and corner of Telangana State. Chinna Reddy accused the government of revising the estimates of various irrigation projects and accordingly, increasing their cost without any scientific reason. If the government is so concerned about increasing the revenues, then it should spend the funds on various projects wisely, which would save crores of rupees, he said.
Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan, Mallu Ravi said that the government was spending crores of rupees on non-important schemes and projects while burdening the common man.
