Rollback of hiked power tariff sought Khammam, June 25 (INN): Rajya Sabha MP and former union minister Renuka Chowdhury demanded that the State Government rollback the hiked power tariff and RTC bus fares.
Speaking at dharna organized by the Congress against the hiked power tariff and RTC fares here on Saturday, the former Union minister came down heavily on the TRS Government saying that it was least bothered about the welfare of the masses. 'At a time when the people are already worried over the rising prices of essential supplies, the unprecedented hike in power tariffs and RTC fares will further make life of the masses more miserable. Is this the golden Telangana you promised,' Chowdhury remarked.
The senior Congress leader was also critical of the Union government accusing it of following anti-people and anti-farmers policies. BJP had promised to usher in good days but failed to do so. Instead the problems of people have multiplied, she remarked.
