Kavita supports SCS for AP Vijayawada, Aug 18 (INN): Nizamabad MP and TRS leader K. Kavita on Thursday said that the onus of granting special category status for Andhra Pradesh rests with the Centre and hoped that the Centre would keep its promise of doing so.
Kavita, who was in Anasagaram in Nandigama of Krishna district to attend a private function, said that the previous Union government had promised AP special status and it was the responsibility of the present government to fulfill the same. She said that even if there were any technical issues in granting SCS to AP, the Centre can take a political decision and fulfill the SCS promise to AP.
The TRS leader said that the division of state was a political issue but the people to people connect between the two states remains the same. Division of state was only for the administrative convenience, there is a spirit of brotherhood between the people of the state and this should continue, Kavita added.
