Pocharam assures timely loan Hyderabad, Dec 21 (INN): Minister for Agriculture Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday said that the state government was issuing timely loans to the farmers and added that the TRS Government was committed for the welfare of farmers.
Speaking on the issue of agriculture in the Assembly, the minister said that the state government was promoting drip irrigation as part of its encouraging micro-irrigation in the state. He said that the government has also set up soil testing centers to help farmers. He said that the government was providing 90 per cent subsidy for farmers from backward classes, small and medium farmers while other farmers were being provide 80 per cent subsidy to purchase mechanized farm equipment.
The Minister said that Telangana stood at the top in the country in terms of production of turmeric. He said that the government would establish Spices Park in Nizamabad. He reiterated that the TRS government had waived off farm lines in a massive manner benefiting over 35 lakh farmers, the example of which is not found in the country.
The minister assured that the government would waive off the fourth phase of farm loans very soon.
