Cash incentives of Rs 30,000 for third child, Rs 40,000 for fourth child AP Government to launch Pillale Sampada programme
Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stated that children are the real wealth of a nation and expressed concern over declining population growth. He announced that the state government will implement a special action plan to address falling birth rates and soon launch a new programme titled 'Pillale Sampada".
Speaking at the Swachh Andhra Swarnandhra Programme at Narsannapeta of Srikakulam district today the Chief Minister said the government is working on a Population Management Policy aimed at transforming population into a national asset.
As part of the initiative, the government will provide financial incentives of Rs 30,000 for the third child and Rs 40,000 for the fourth child, he announced.
The Chief Minister noted that many families are increasingly opting for one child norm, while several countries are witnessing population decline and rise in elderly population. He cautioned that such demographic shifts are adversely affecting economic growth in those countries.
He added that the state government will take measures to improve birth rates through the Population Management Policy. The government is also strengthening Anganwadi centres to ensure better nutrition for mothers and children through the Women and Child Welfare department.
The Chief Minister further highlighted that the government is already extending Rs 15,000 financial assistance under the 'Thalli Ki Vandanam' scheme for mothers.
