Tour operators of AP to face heat in TS Hyderabad, Dec 22 (INN): Minister for Transport P Mahender Reddy on Thursday said that the State Government would crack whip against private transport operators of Andhra Pradesh operating in TS and making dent into the state's revenues.
Raising the issues in the Question Hour in Assembly, TRS MLA Srinivas Goud said that that private tour operators from AP were causing losses to the TSRTC and demanded the government to take steps to curb them.
Replying to the question, Mahender Reddy said that the state government has provided Rs 1,000 crore to strengthen TSRTC services and increase the fleet. He said that the government was planning to hold inter-state meeting to resolve the issue with Andhra Pradesh. He said an inter-state agreement has to be entered for the permits whose validity expired.
The minister also informed that presently, 176 services were being operated from various places in Hyderabad city including 28 inter-State services. More such services will be introduced shortly. He also informed that 236 mini-buses would be introduced in the Old City from next month.
