PD Act for selling spurious seeds Hyderabad, Dec 22 (INN): Minister for Agriculture Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Thursday warned that the state government would book cases under PD Act against firms and individuals found guilty of selling spurious seeds to farmers.
Speaking in the Legislative Council on the agriculture sector, Srinivas Reddy said that the state government was providing huge subsidies to the farm sector to promote mechanized farm equipment. He also assured that the government would soon release the pending input subsidy for farmers. He said that the government was encouraging micro-irrigation and was providing soil cards to help farmers raise specific crops.
Stating that the TRS government was giving priority to farm sector development, the minister said that the government would establish Spices Park in Nizamabad. He said that the government gave subsidy to the turmeric farmers to the tune of Rs 1 crore.
