Scores of party workers including ZPTCs, MPTCs and sarpanches of the YSRC joined the ruling party on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Kalpana said that her joining TDP was like homecoming. She said that she wanted to strengthen the hands of the ruling party which was striving for the development of the state. She said that the CM was working hard for the construction of Amaravati capital city and other development projects.
It may be noted that Kaplana had joined the YSRCP before the 2014 election. Earlier she was with TD. With the defection of Kalpana to TD, the number of YSRC MLAs joining TDP rose to over 20.
