Irregularities in Haritha Haram alleged Hyderabad, Dec 23 (INN): MLC and Congress leader Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Friday alleged that massive irregularities took place in the state government's Haritha Haram greed drive.
Speaking on the issue in Legislative Council, Sudhakar Reddy alleged that large scale irregularities took place in the green drive implementation in the GHMC jurisdiction.
The Congress MLC said that the government took up the green drive on such a massive scale but took no measures to protect the saplings that were planted during the green drive. He said that it was unfortunate that though the government took up such a massive drive by sending huge funds, it took no measures to protect the sapling which shows the government's commitment and seriousness in taking up the plantation drive. He demanded that the government should rename the Haritha Haram Award as Ashoka Mitra Award.
