Tension at RTA as TRS, TD MLA face-off Hyderabad, Dec 27 (INN): Allegations and counter allegations between TDP MLA J C Prabhakar Reddy from Andhra Pradesh and TRS MLA Srinivas Goud from Telangana regarding irregularities in operation of private tour operators took serious turn on Tuesday as both the legislators arrived at the Road Transport Authority (RTA) office at Khairatabad to prove their respective stands on the issue.
City police swung into action and took Prabhakara Reddy into preventive custody and shifted him to a police station. Srinivas Goud had raised the issue of about the alleged irregularities of travels owned by Prabhakar Reddy, who refuted the charges and challenged the TRS MLA to prove his charges. He urged the TRS MLA to come to the RTA office. Accepting the challenge thrown by TDP MLA, Srinivas Goud arrived there along with his large number of supporters.
Protesting his arrest, Prabhakar Reddy alleged that the police arrested him only because he hailed from AP. He also said that the TRS MLA was acting at the behest of his competitors. He demanded the arrested of the TRS MLA also.
Srinivas Goud claimed that he had all evidences about the irregularities by Reddy's private tour operators. He said that the AP based private operators were denting the revenues of TSRTC and demanding stern action against the illegal private operators operating in Telangana.
