Opposition boycotts Assembly proceedings Hyderabad, Dec 29 (INN): Opposition parties on Thursday boycotted Assembly proceedings protesting against the manner in which the Land Acquisition Bill was passed yesterday. The Opposition parties alleged that the Speaker did not allow them to put their views on the Bill.
The Congress, TDP, CPM boycotted the proceedings, while BJP and MIM were part of the proceedings. According to sources, the Opposition parties were contemplating to move No Confidence Motion against the Speaker alleging that he was being unfair towards the Opposition in running the house.
Hitting at the Opposition, Legislative Minister Harish Rao said that the Opposition parties were left with no issues to raise and were envious of the state government's work. We are doing a lot for the welfare of the state and Opposition has nothing to protest and hence they were boycotting the House. At one point he said that the Congress members were given more time to speak than the ruling party members in the House.
