Fish markets to eliminate middle men Hyderabad, Jan 3 (INN): Minister for Agriculture Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Tuesday said that the State Government was giving priority to the development of fisheries' department and added that various initiatives have been taken in this direction.
Speaking in the Legislative Council on the issue of fisheries development, the minister said that the government would soon establish fish market to help fishermen community sell fish without the intervention of middle men. He said that the government was also arranging vehicles for transporting the fish from pond to point of sale. He said that there were good opportunities for the development of fisheries department in the state. He said that the government has distributed 29 crore fish seeds to the fishermen community at cent per cent subsidy as part of the government's boost for blue revolution.
