HC breather to TS Govt on LI project Hyderabad, Jan 3 (INN): Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday set aside the stay imposed by the National Green Tribunal on Palamuru-Rangaredy Lift Irrigation Project giving a breather to the TRS Government.
Counsel for the TS government argued that the NGT imposed stay without hearing the TS Govt version on the Irrigation Project. It also revealed that the NGT imposed stay up to January 17 on the Project against the primary legal rules. TS advocate general pleaded that the High Court to vacate the stay imposed by the NGT. The Advocate general also assured the Court that the state government would only use the project water to meet drinking water requirements. The government also informed the Court that it will not construct the project in Amrabad Reserve Forest area. Considering the State's plea, the High Court dismissed the NGT's stay.
