'Govt mulling action against illegal study centres'
Hyderabad, Jan 3 (INN): Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari said that the government was planning to bring legislation to act against the study centres operating in the state without necessary permissions.
Replying to a question in Legislative Council about the mushrooming of study centres in the state, Srihari who also holds the portfolio of education, said that the government would act against all the institutions claiming to be study centres of varsities based in other states and operating here without necessary permissions. He said that the state government has identified eight intuitions which are operating without recognition from UGC or the state government.
Srihari said that the government has taken up the issue with the UGC authorities and would act against fake educational institutions accordingly. He said that the Telangana State Council for Higher Education has already launched an awareness drive among the students community with regard to educational institutions operating without permission.
