Increase remuneration of sports' coaches: BJP MLA Hyderabad, Jan 6 (INN): BJP MLA T. Raja Singh on Friday demanded that the Telangana Government either regularise the services of coaches of different sports or increase their pay.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour in State Legislative Assembly, Raja Singh said that coaches were being a paltry sum of Rs. 6,000 per month. He demanded that the payment be increased to at least Rs. 20,000 per month. Informing that players trained in different streams of sports at Rahimpura Playground in his Gosha Mahal constituency have won 6 Gold medals at national level, he said that their coaches were not being paid a decent remuneration. Similar is the situation in Victory Playground.
The BJP MLA demanded that the LB Stadium, Nizam College Ground and other stadia should be used only for training sports persons. He said that the city had the potential to produce more players like P.V. Sindhu and therefore, more training and infrastructure facilities should be provided by the government.
